The Heart Exchange exists for the benefit of transplant patients.  Its members are heart and lung recipients, those in need of transplants, their spouses, families, friends and nurses who work with them.

Transplantation process bring a host of challenges and obstacles to be dealt with by patients and their families prior to transplant as well as during recovery. Your participation and support of this year’s golf classic will provide the funding that enables the Heart Exchange Support Group to continue it’s objectives of patient support, donor awareness and support of professional education and research.    

Over the last twenty years $1,812,000 has been raised to help fund the efforts of the Heart Exchange Support Group, a 501 ©(3) non-profit organization.

In 2009 $25,622 was used to improve patient care through specialized transplant nurse’s training and research grants to the Texas Heart Institute to advance the treatment of heart disease. Another $42,500 was provided for temporary housing. $16,000 in financial aid was supplied to patients immediate short term needs. Nearly $12,000 was spent on activities to educate the public.

Heart Exchange Support Group members give of their time by visiting patients both weekly and as a group on holidays.  In 2009, Heart Exchange members logged over 3,400 hours.
